False Trust

Isaiah 19 is a prediction of what will happen to Egypt for their cruel treatment of the Israelites. Egypt trusted in her wise men, prophets, and alliances for protection.   And today, too often, we depend on other things rather than turn to God for our answers.

We trust the laws of our government, medicine and doctors, financial advisors, science and education for wisdom. When we put our trust in things, instead of God, we end up prolonging our difficulties until we learn our lessons and turn to God for the answers. He was standing right there all the time just waiting for us to ask so he could abundantly give. He wants to give far more than we even ask for, but we’re too busy running in circles to even notice.
